Ringing up a sale
The Sell screen has your product catalog on one side and the current sale on the other. On a phone the sale is a bottom sheet; on a tablet or computer it sits beside the catalog.
Add products
- Search or scan. Type in the “Search or scan barcode” box. Pressing Enter adds an exact barcode match or the only matching product.
- Barcode scanner. A USB/Bluetooth scanner that types like a keyboard works anywhere on the screen. If your till has camera scanning on, a SCAN button opens the camera to read a barcode. (See Shifts & hardware notes for device support.)
- Tap a product. Switch between Grid view and List view. A product with variants shows “{n} options” and “from {price}”; tap it to choose the variant.
- Custom amount. For something not in the catalog — a repair, a deposit, a miscellaneous charge — use + Custom amount, type a description and amount, then Add to sale. (A cashier can have a per-sale limit on custom amounts.)
Each line has −/+ steppers to change quantity.
Discounts
- Line discount. Tap the % on a line to take a percentage off that item. Quick chips (10 / 20 / 50%) appear up to the cashier’s limit.
- Whole-sale discount. Use + Add discount to apply a percentage or a fixed amount to the sale, with an optional reason — or enter a promo code, which is validated before it applies.
A cashier’s discount limit is set on their account. A discount can never bring the total to zero or below. A promo code can go beyond a cashier’s own limit, but only as far as the code itself allows.
Add a customer
Every till sale needs a customer — either a walk-in buyer or a named customer.
- In the sale panel, use the customer box to search by name or ID (type at least two characters) and pick from the list.
- Use Change to swap the customer, or the pencil to edit a named customer’s details.
- To add someone new, fill in their name and, when your market issues invoices, their ID type and ID number (an ID is required to invoice). Email and phone are optional. Choose Save & attach.
Hold a sale / serve more than one customer
- Park the current sale to start a new one — useful when a customer steps away to grab one more item.
- The tab strip across the top shows every open sale (by customer name or “Sale {n}”). Tap a tab to switch back to it.
- Clear empties the current sale; the × on a tab discards that held sale (it asks you to confirm).
Held sales stay on that till through the shift, even if you refresh the page. They are cleared when the shift is closed.
When the sale is ready, choose Checkout to take payment → Payments & receipts.
