Create a product
Open it: Products → New product (top-right).
Only the name and the reference are required — everything else is optional, and you can refine it later. The form is one page: a main column on the left and a sticky column on the right. Below is every field, in the order it appears.
Basic information (left)
- Product name (required) — what shoppers see in the store.
- Product reference (required) — the SKU. A code is suggested (like
PRO-00001); it must be unique. If it’s taken you’ll see “This reference already exists. Choose a unique code.” - Barcode — EAN or UPC (optional).
- Sale price — the selling price.
- Cost — what you pay per unit. Feeds your margin and the till; never shown to shoppers.
- Compare-at price — the higher “was” price, shown struck through when the product is on sale. Leave blank for no sale. When it’s higher than the price, a live preview shows the “was”, the “now”, and the discount percent.
- Sales taxes — usually left on your default. Where your market’s country requires a recognized tax, you must choose one, or the product can’t be invoiced.
- Internal category — for your own accounting and reporting; shoppers never see it.
- Storefront categories — the menu shoppers browse. With none chosen, the product appears on no category page. (You can type a new name to create one.)
- Description — the storefront product-page body (rich text). This is what sells the product.
- Line on receipts and quotations — the short line printed on receipts and quotations. By default it’s taken from the Description (“Auto from the description above”); choose Write a different line to customize it.
- Tags — small labels shown on the card and product page.
Product images (left)
Drag images in or click to upload — up to 7. The first image is the main one; drag to reorder, the rest form the gallery. If an image fails to upload, the product is still created and you can add it later from the product page.
Variants (left)
If the product comes in options like size or color:
- Choose + Add an option (e.g. Size, Colour).
- Enter the Option name and its Values (type a value, press Enter). Each value can carry a price extra.
- The Variant matrix below lists every combination, each with its own SKU, Price, Initial stock, and Images.
With no options, the product is a single version and you just set its Initial stock (the opening on-hand quantity).
Storefront (right)
- Published / Draft toggle — Published is visible in your store; Draft is saved but hidden. New products default to Published.
- Availability:
- Track inventory (turn off for a service) — turn off for a service or non-stocked product.
- Continue selling when out of stock.
- Show available quantity on the product page.
- Also sell at the shop till (Point of Sale) — only appears when in-person selling is set up for your brand. When on, pick Till categories.
- Sold by — the unit (default: Units).
- Out-of-stock message — shown when it’s unavailable.
- Badge — a single ribbon on the card and product page (e.g. Sale or New).
Margin, related products, shipping, SEO (right)
- Margin — appears once price or cost is entered; shows profit per unit.
- Related products — optional/accessory products in the cart, and alternatives at the bottom of the product page.
- Shipping & logistics — weight, volume, lead time, HS code, country of origin.
- SEO — the page title and meta description Google shows; a live preview is below. By default these come from the name and description.
Save
Choose Create product. The button stays disabled until the name and a unique reference are filled.
You may see non-blocking warnings under “Before you create this product:” — for example a price of 0 while Published, no image, or no storefront category. These don’t stop you from saving.
Validation rules: the name and reference are required; numeric fields must be a number (“Enter a number, for example 12.5”) and not negative; where the market requires it, choose a recognized sale tax.
After saving you can Open product to keep editing, or go Back to list.
Next: Edit a product.
