Point of SaleOverview

Point of Sale

The Primiox point of sale (the till) lets your staff sell in person at the counter. It runs in the browser on a phone, tablet, or computer and shares the same products, stock, customers, and taxes as your online store — so a sale at the counter and a sale online draw from one inventory.

Cashiers open it at /pos on your store and sign in with their own staff account. They can ring up sales but can’t edit products or pricing — selling and back-office management are separate permissions.

What you can do

  • Open a shift with a counted cash float, and close it with a drawer count and a Z-report at the end of the day.
  • Ring up sales by searching or scanning barcodes, with variants, quantities, and a quick “custom amount” for anything not in the catalog.
  • Apply discounts per line or to the whole sale, including promo codes (within each cashier’s limit).
  • Attach a customer — a walk-in buyer or a named customer with their ID.
  • Take payment in cash, by card/bank, or on a customer account, including split payments across methods.
  • Give the customer a receipt — print it or email it.
  • Refund a past sale, which returns the money and puts the items back in stock.

What you need

  • Point of sale on your plan. Every Primiox plan includes your website, online store, and point of sale — it just needs to be switched on for the brand.
  • A till set up in the admin (Settings → Points of sale), with a location and at least one payment method.
  • A cashier account with permission to sell at the counter.

See Getting started for the setup and first sign-in.

Good to know — a few things that depend on your setup or region:

  • Card readers are operated by hand. The till doesn’t drive a physical card terminal. Your cashier runs the payment on the reader, then records the approval code on the till. See Payments & receipts.
  • Electronic invoicing (e.g. Ecuador SRI) is produced by your commerce backend’s tax localization, not by the till. The till shows the invoice status after the sale and never blocks a sale on it. See Invoicing.
  • Counter refunds return money and restock, but don’t issue a credit note. If a sale was invoiced, raise any credit note in the back office. See Refunds.
