URL redirects

Open it: Settings → URL redirects.

Redirects send one path on your store to another — useful when a page moves or a URL changes. They apply per brand and market, on every request.

Add a redirect

  1. Create a new redirect.
  2. Set:
    • from — the old path (e.g. /old-page).
    • to — the new path on your site, or a full external URL.
    • type — 301 (permanent) or 302 (temporary).
    • active — on to apply it.
  3. Save.

The from and to can’t be the same. Redirect chains aren’t resolved when you save, and the storefront follows at most five hops — so point old URLs straight at the final destination.

Many category and product renames create a redirect for you automatically, so you usually only add redirects here for pages you moved by hand.
