Attributes
Open it: Products → Attributes.
Attributes are your brand’s shared list of options — like Size or Colour — and their values. A product uses them to create variants.
Create an attribute
- Choose + New attribute.
- Type a name (e.g. “Size”).
- Choose how it creates variants:
- Instantly (all variants) — every combination is created up front.
- Dynamically (on order) — variants are created as they’re ordered.
- Never — no variants.
- Choose how shoppers choose it: Radio, Pills, Dropdown, Color, or Multi-checkbox.
- Choose Create.
Add values
In the attribute’s inspector (right), use the Values editor: type a value and press Enter. For a Color attribute each value gets a colour swatch. Click a value to rename or recolour it, or × to remove it. The sticky footer shows Discard / Save when there are unsaved changes.
How it feeds variants
On the product form’s Variants editor you pick an existing attribute and its values; each combination becomes a variant (following the attribute’s create-variant mode).
An attribute that products already use is locked — it can’t be deleted and its variant mode can’t be changed until you remove it from those products.
